Her father Thankachan Emmanuel is a renowned producer in the Malayalam film industry. her father’s first film was Kaadha Thudarunnu, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. Anu Emmanuel started her career as a child artist in Swapna Sanchari. In this film, she played the role of Ajaychandran Nair’s daughter. And this film was produced by his father. Along with this, she also did modeling and many TV commercial advertisements.

But her actual film career started in 2016. her first film or Malayalam debut was the action hero Biju, directed by Abrid Shine and produced by her father. After this, she made her debut in a Telugu film with Manju. And this film was good for her career, and due to her best acting performance, she was nominated for the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Telugu. 

Manju was a box-office hit, so she gained a lot of fame and attention, during this time she was announced for the lead role in Oxygen.

The next year she made her Tamil film debut with Thupparivaalan (2017). She has played the role of Mallika in this film. In 2018, she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan in “Agnyaathavaasi” and Allu Arjun in “Naa Peru Surya”. She also played the lead role as Anu Reddy in Shailaja Reddy Alludu. In the same year, she also did a cameo in Geetha Govindam. Once again she appeared in a Tamil film in 2019, named Namma Veetu Pillai. And this is her first film which was a commercial hit and he received much praise for his acting. 

After 2019, Anu Emmanuel starred in films such as Alludu Adhars, Maha Samudram (2021), Urvasivo Rakshasivo (2022), Raavanasura (2023) and Japan (2023). Now she is seen working actively in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.

” I try not to keep a list of who I want to work with or nothing like that because i think cinema is also changing more than you want to work with it’s what you do in the film and what the story is and good content so i don’t really have a list of people i want to work with I want to work with everybody. i just want to be a part of good cinema. and i wan to improve as an actor.”

Embarrassing Moment?

“I don’t know if it’s embarrassing but me and Karthik sir we fell off a horse both of us we fell off a horse in kashmir. because it was a small and Ravi Verman sir wanted us to face each other , he want wanted us to face each other in the horse on sitting on top of the horse. so we fell off and it was not grass it was like rocks so i had a hairline fracture for one month. that’s not embarrassing but that was very unfortunate”

What was the most challenging thing?

“it’s like adapting to the situation without your family stay alone you know now i like it now i am used to that i am independent and everything but before it was definitely a challenge, you know but then also when you think this opportunity that i have is very rare see not everybody gets this opportunity so you have to understand there’s so many girls who wish to be in my position so when you understand that pain or the the sadness or whatever everythig just goes away”

Most challenging Character?

“I have not played many roles so i don’t think it was that challenging to playbut in terms of Kiran uses her eyes so much she doesn’t speak so much use her eyes and since my eyes are very big even the smallest expression can give you a misleading expression so if you see if i move my eyes too much it can give the wrong impression to viewers so i think that part was a bit challenging because my eyes were very big “
